Woman drives into sea in Peyia

A young woman from Russia drove her car into the sea in Peyia on Tuesday afternoon police said.

According to authorities, the woman was lost in the Ayios Georgios area of Peyia, leading her to drive into the sea and sink the car in approximately 1.5 metres of water.

The woman was rescued by fire services and local police. She was taken to Paphos A&E as a precautionary measure.

Authorities said that the woman was well, and that they are continuing their investigations in conjunction with the fire service.
