Run with Societe Generale

With the aim of promoting social sport and enhancing healthy lifestyles, the 11th annual race Run With Us organised by Societe Generale Bank Cyprus and Dro.Me.A Racing for the prevention of cancer will be held on December 2.

With a focus on exercise as a way to stay healthy, the race includes 5km and 10km, an 800metre children’s race, as well as a Company Charity Race of 5km whose raised sums will go towards enriching Pasykaf’s work, an organisation working towards better the life of cancer patients and their families.

Runners are to meet at Athalassa Park at 10am, at the entrance that is about 200metres past the General Hospital roundabout. Those eager to participate are urged to sign up prior to the event on the website: www.dromearacing.com.

There are various participation fees depending on the race: for the 5km the fee is €10 (15 years and over), for the 10 km it is €15 (16 years and over) and €150 for the Charity Corporate Match for groups of up to 20 people (for groups more than 20 it is €5 per extra person).

Two options are available upon registration: the basic package that includes a commemorative medal and the enhanced package which for an extra €10 includes a Legea jacket.

Each runner’s number will be distributed on the day of the race only between 8am and 9.30am so participants are encouraged to be on time. The children’s 800m race is free and registrations will be made on the day of the race between 8am and 9.30am. For runners under the age of 18 parental consent is required.

A 1km race is dedicated to Kostakis Loukaidis’ memory, a former member of the Board of Directors the Cyprus Sports Organisation and an old track athlete.

“It is with great joy that we see every year the participants of this race increase, promoting an athletic culture and at the same time supporting people in need through of the important work carried out by Pasykaf,” said Dromeas Racing communication officer Makis Kounnides.

“In the framework of our company’s Social Responsibility, we support the movement and sport in general, and we are helpers of actions that promote exercise and a health way of living,” Societe Generale senior executive chief Khalil Letayf commented.
