Remands for women involved in human trafficking

A 36-year-old woman was remanded for eight days on Tuesday by the Nicosia district court to facilitate investigations into a case involving human trafficking, sexual exploitation, pimping, the running a of a brothel and profiting from prostitution.

As part of the same investigation, the Nicosia district court issued a second eight-day remand order for two women, both aged 47, who were arrested on October 21.

The two women were arrested following a coordinated search in two residences in Nicosia by members of the Nicosia crime prevention unit and the office for combating human trafficking, which is investigating the case.
