A musical journey from Mozart to Mendelssohn

Some of Western civilization’s most classic symphonies will be showcased at an upcoming family concert at the Pallas Theatre by the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra (CySO).

The concert will include works by four German-speaking composers, two Germans and two Austrians, with excerpts from four symphonies that present a different mood and character being presented:
Mozart’s Symphony no. 35 in D major
Mendelssohn’s Symphony no. 1 in C minor
Beethoven’s Symphony no. 2 in D major
Schubert’s Symphony 2 in Bb major
Mendelssohn’s ‘Hebrides Overture’

The conductor and presenter of the concert is Petros Stylianou, and the concert is open to individuals of all ages.

CySO is a non-profit organisation which was founded in 2006, with the aim of developing and promoting the art of orchestral music and to improve musical life and education on the island, as well as involving society in musical activities.
