Police to launch campaign against drink driving Monday

The sixth campaign of the year against drink driving will be launched by the police on Monday, lasting until Sunday, August 19.

A police statement said that in the EU around 25 per cent of traffic deaths are caused by driving under the influence of alcohol.

Driving after drinking, even if only a small amount, increases the chances of being involved in a traffic crash, largely due to the reduction in the driver’s reaction time.
