Taxify expands to Limassol

Taxify is now available in Limassol following a successful start in Nicosia, it was announced on Friday.

Within its first six weeks of operation in Cyprus Taxify’s mobile phone application has exceeded 5,000 users, while its drivers make more than 150 journeys a day. Taxify started operating in Cyprus with six drivers and now it has over 50.

According to Taxify Cyprus director, Sotiris Tsigarides, customers are happy to be able to call a taxi at the touch of a button. This new method has also benefited drivers who have seen their income rise by as much as € 1,500 a month.

To attract even more customers Taxify is offering all customers in Nicosia and Limassol a 50 per cent discount for credit card payments through the application. Additionally, customers can benefit by suggesting another person as they will both get a discount for their next trip.

The app allows users to set their location and see where the nearest partner taxi is and order it. The taxi can be tracked heading to the customer’s location and indicates how long far away it is and how long it will take to arrive.

Customers can also track their routes while inside the cab, preventing drivers from taking longer routes and overcharging for trips. Customers can also pay via their phones.

The application was created in Estonia and has been a great success in Europe, Central America and Africa. With 5 million users in 30 countries and with transactions over $ 1 billion, it is today the most rapidly growing technology company in Europe.
