Fire in Nata brought under control

A fire that broke out in the agricultural area near Nata, Paphos at around 1pm has been brought under control, the police said.

It burned three hectares of wild scrub.

Strong winds in the area meant it was difficult to put out.

To bring the fire under control two large fire trucks were used and four mobile units in addition to two helicopters of the national guard.

Firefighters have remained in the area in case the fire breaks out again.
