Municipal workers strike over outsourcing

Employees at the Aglandjia municipality will go on a 24-hour warning strike on Thursday over the municipal council’s decision to outsource works to the private sector.

Unions said the strike would begin on Thursday at 7pm until the same time on Friday because the municipal council chose to purchase services from the private sector for garbage collection and other departments such as that of the technical services.

The unions affiliated with Peo, Sek and Deok called on the municipal council to recall their decision and make other arrangements with the unions.

They asked for the public’s understanding over the matter and any trouble this would cause them.
