Teen dies in road collision

A teenager died on Thursday after his scooter collided with a car on the Kantou-Episkopi road, Limassol.

The victim was 17 years old.

He was rushed to hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

The young man was not wearing a helmet at the time, police said.

Media reports said that police arriving on the scene found the scooter about 20m from the site of the collision.

The 28-year-old driver of the car involved in the crash called an ambulance around 5.30pm.

Shortly later he visited the Episkopi police station and was being questioned.
