Police operation against electronic betting

Members of the police on Sunday morning raided a property in Limassol with a court warrant to bust electronic betting.

In the building they found 19 computers which they believe were being used for gambling, plus CCTV cameras two of which were recording the entrance. It was all taken away as evidence.

Two foreign women and two customers were found inside the building, while the owner of the building was called to present himself. All five were arrested.

One of the two customers was found to be staying illegally in Cyprus as his details were found on a list of banned migrants as they have already entered Cyprus once.

They were all five taken before Limassol District Court which issued four-day remand orders against them.
