Voting times announced for elections

Voting at polling stations on January 28 will take place from 7am to 6pm, with a one-hour break from noon to 1pm, the Elections Commissioner has announced ahead of the presidential elections.

Officers at polling stations may at their discretion extend voting hours to 9pm if a large number of people are still gathered waiting to cast their ballot.

For Cypriots overseas, voting hours will be from 10am to 7pm (with a one-hour break from 2pm to 3pm) in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

In Greece and Bulgaria, voting will take place from 7am to 6pm, breaking for one hour at noon.

Cypriots in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, Sweden and the Czech Republic will be able to vote from 9am to 5pm, with a one-hour break from 1am to 2pm.

In the United Kingdom, voting will take place from 8am to 4pm, with a half-hour break at noon.

In the United States, the hours are from 7am to 11am.
