Eleven dogs found in plastic bags

Limassol police said Wednesday they were investigating the deaths of 11 dogs found in a state of advanced decomposition in plastic bags in an open area.

Police said they were called to the scene by members of an animal protection group. A state veterinarian was also notified but he said it was impossible to determine the cause of death due to the advanced decomposition.

The animals were not chipped, police said.
