A Goddess never gets old

The AG Leventis Gallery in Nicosia will expand on its temporary exhibition The Venus Paradox with a special screening of the documentary Venus Uncovered on Thursday.

The documentary by historian, author and broadcaster Professor Bettany Hughes investigates the archaeological approach of the goddess’ birthplace in Cyprus. Through ancient art, evocative myth, archaeological revelation and philosophical explorations Hughes reveals how this immortal goddess endures in the 21st century.

Join Hughes as she takes goes on a fascinating journey into Aphrodite’s surprising origins and her enduring ability to inspire and excite successive generations, while she questions our assumptions about the goddess of love.
