Exercising in the water, all over the world

As we live on an island, and we pretty much have nine months of summer, water is a very important factor in our everyday lives. But on Friday – Worldwide Aquathon Day – water will steal the show in 77 countries all over the world.

For the fifth year in a row, an aqua fitness marathon will take place around the world at the same time to spread the word that aqua is an amazing exercise platform that is suitable for all ages and fitness levels, while also raising money for local charities.

The three-hour aqua fitness event in Cyprus will be held at the Crown Plaza Resort Hotel in Coral Bay Paphos from 7.30am. Sixteen aqua ladies from the Spa Tonic club will be up for the challenge to raise funds and split it between the Archangel Michael Hospice in Paphos and the Premature Baby Unit in Nicosia.

During the marathon, people will be encouraged to get into the pool, try exercising in the water and perhaps make it a part of their exercise regime.

The event started in South Africa and was shared via social media to ask other countries to join in the water fun.
