Two voices unite

For 25 years now Dhali has been the place for the so-called ‘milk festival’, bringing with it big musical names from Greece to perform. Through the years, the festival has hosted Greek singers and bands, some that were famous at the time and others that have stood the test of time. This year the latter is true, as singers Yiannis Parios and Melina Aslanidou will provide the entertainment for the festival on September 5.

Parios has been in the music business since 1969 and is still going strong. He was the first Greek singer to take a hit from another country and make it a hit in Greece by putting Greek lyrics to it, the song in question being Alain Barriere’s ‘Tu t’en vas’.

He has worked with many leading composers and artists and has also written his own lyrics and composed his own songs. He has also performed all over the world and has released over 40 albums.

Joining him will be Aslanidou, who was one of the coaches on the Greek version of The Voice. She started out as a member of the band Oi Apenanti from 2000 until 2002. She has been singing solo since 2003, when her debut album To Perasma came out. Since then she has charmed the whole of Greece with her gentle manner and big voice.
