Seabed clean-up in Limassol

The association of divers in Cyprus on Sunday organised a seabed clean-up in Limassol, east of the port.

Similar clean-ups have already taken place in Paralimni, Larnaca and Ayios Athanasios.

Limassol Mayor Nicos Nicolaides who attended Sunday’s event said it was important work.

“The responsibility to keep our seas clean is collective, from the part of citizens, municipalities and organised groups,” he said.

Head of the divers’ association  Savvas Minas said bottles, plastics and various other rubbish was brought to the surface during the event.
