Father and son guilty of rape

A father, 65, and his 39-year-old son were found guilty on Wednesday on charges of raping an underage girl and a series of indecent assaults perpetrated in Limassol between 1992 and 2009.

The pair are expected to be sentenced in September.

According to the Cyprus News Agency, most of the charges concern indecent assaults against relatives. They were both found guilty of raping a girl under the age of 13. The father was also found guilty of forcing himself on two young males.

His wife was cleared of charges relating to omitting to act to prevent the committing of the offences.

The trial was held behind closed doors.
