Hotel occupancy ratios in Paphos improved over mid-August

The occupancy ratio at hotels in Paphos over the mid-August holidays is high and improved compared to last year, the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) reported on Monday citing the head of the district branch of the Cyprus Hotel Association, Thanos Michaelides.

Still, last minute vacationers may also find available accommodation in the Paphos and Polis Chrysochous area as well as nearby areas, the CNA reported citing Michaelides.

While tourists have not increased their standards, they remain demanding and expect options, a clean environment and clean sea, adequate services at the beach and accessibility to the beach and the sea, as travellers can draw comparisons with other countries, the agency reported citing the chairman of the business group widely known by its Greek acronym Pasyxe.

While cleanness levels in Kato Paphos improved, the effort has to continue, Michaelides said according to CNA.

On Friday, the chairman of the business group, Haris Loizides, said that hoteliers were pleased with island-wide occupancy ratios which were expected to continue into autumn.
