Three more arrests in the north with alleged Gulen ties

Authorities in the north have arrested three more persons as part of an ongoing operation to track down individuals believed to have ties to Feto, shorthand for ‘Fetullah terrorist organisation’.

According to reports, the three placed under arrest are a police officer, his wife, and a third individual.

They were expected to appear in a court for their remand hearing.

Fetullah Gulen, a US-based Turkish cleric, is claimed to be behind last year’s attempted coup in Turkey.

Reports earlier this year said that 200 policemen in the north were being investigated in connection with potential links to Gulen’s organisation.

In January this year, nine colonels serving in the north were arrested after an investigation linked them to the alleged terror organisation.
