It’s a heavy metal get-away

When we hear the name Camelot we often think of King Arthur, knights, wizards and a time of honour, but when it comes to Camelot in Nicosia – the park – there is only one thing on our minds this month and that is the Power of the Night Festival.

The festival, which will run for the twelfth year, will offer three days of live music, cooling off in a swimming pool and camping close to all the action.

This year the list of artists who will be on stage is even longer than last year and the headline bands will give it even more power.

Get ready for some heavy metal with English band Oliver/Dawson Saxon, who have been rocking under various names since 1995. More metal with the German band Sacred Steel, who have enriched the power metal scene since 1996 with over ten albums and numerous tours in Europe. Completing the headliners for the festival will be Greek band Sadhus – The Smoking Community. The five-piece band are “inspired to play heavy metal” as they claim on their Facebook page.

Their somewhat bluesy sound and crisp vocals will surely keep us wanting more.
