Three injured in road accident

Three men were injured, one of them, 21, in serious condition following a road accident in Larnaca early Saturday.

According to the police, the accident occurred at around 2.15am on Makarios Avenue in Larnaca, when a car driven by the 21-year-old veered off course and entered the opposite lane, causing a head-on collision with a car driven by a 59-year-old with a 57-year-old as co-passenger.

All three men were injured and were taken to the Larnaca general hospital.

The 21-year-old suffered a liver injury and is in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. His condition is considered serious but out of danger.

The other two men, both suffered fractures to the sternum and other injuries and are to undergo surgery.

Blood samples were taken from both drivers for alcotest.
