One hundred guitars

Within the framework of the Larnaca Festival, which will start tomorrow and last until the end of the month, the guitarist association of Cyprus will present the biggest guitar event to have ever happened on the island under the name 100 Guitars. The event will take place on Wednesday at the Pattichion Municipal Amphitheatre.

Conducted by Vangelis Boudouni, who has taken part in concerts at the Athens Hall and at the Herodion, and with creative direction by Antonis Koiza, 100 Guitars promises a night of complete entertainment.

Taking part in the event are soloists George and Stelios Klokaris, Maro Razi and the String Demons, a duo made up of cellist Constantinos and violinist Lydia Boudouni. Also participating are Guitar Ensembles from Acordes Guitar Ensemble, a group of eight to 12 guitar players who aim to present melodies in an innovative way; Cyprus Guitar Trio made up of Vasilios Avraam, Giorgos Christophi and Sokratis Leptos; Constantinos Lyras and Memnon Arestis on guitar and Savvas Thoma on cajon who form Rumba Attack and are known for performing their own original instrumental material in a distinctive Spanish flamenco-rumba style, and finally; the Larnaca Voice Ensemble of the Municipality, under the direction of Andreas Gerolemou.

The programme includes a musical tour of iconic works of world and Greek music including Spanish and Latin American melodies as well as songs by Manos Hadjidakis and Mikis Theodorakis.
