Still no sign of missing fisherman (Update 3)

Despite an intensive search for 83-year-old actor, director and fisherman Nicos Siafkalis who has been missing in the Latsi area since Sunday morning no sign of him has yet been found.

Police officers, divers and volunteers looked for him until darkness fell on Sunday after he was reported missing in the afternoon and resumed early on Monday morning where a police helicopter was also employed to assist the search.

The search, which spanned from the Limanaki area in Latsi until the Baths of Aphrodite, covering both the sea and coast reaped no results and was called off at 8:30pm.

The elderly man left his home at 7am on Sunday and friends started to worry about him when he didn’t answer their phone calls later on.

In his car a mobile phone, his clothes and other personal items were found.

His fishing equipment is missing.

The search is expected to continue on Tuesday.
