Tourist died from heart attack

The 60-year-old male tourist from Sweden who was found floating unconscious off Protaras’ coast on Saturday, died from a heart attack it was announced on Monday.

The man was spotted floating unconscious in the sea on Saturday morning. He was brought to the shore and was transferred to the Famagusta general hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The man was reportedly seen walking in the sea, in shallow waters not exceeding a metre-high, and then collapsing.

Following the post-mortem, carried out on Monday by state pathologist Angeliki Papetta, it was announced that the 60-year-old died from heart attack.
