Pride festival to be held under president’s auspices

Accept LGBT Cyprus officially announced on Tuesday the annual Pride Festival, which this year is under the auspices of President Nicos Anastasiades.

The theme of this year’s festival is Speak Love and is aimed at combatting homophobic and transphobic hate speech. Pride Days festival, that began on May 13 and will end on May 28 with the Pride Parade, is also under the auspices of Nicosia Mayor Constantinos Yiorkadjis.

As part of Pride Days there will be film screenings and theatre events, a human library, parties, panel discussions and even a free yoga course. Free HIV rapid tests will also be given between May 19 and 28 in various venues in Nicosia, Larnaca and Limassol.
