A band shares its success with the fans

A local band who are making it big on an international scale will be celebrating the success of their debut album with live performances in Nicosia, Larnaca and Limassol.

As the name of the band suggests, its main star is singer and songwriter Arda. Arda started her career by playing small clubs as a solo artist, sometimes accompanied by an acoustic guitar. But she wanted to feel the dynamics of a band, the collective energy and the way one band member can feed off the vibe of another, and so The Stolen Moon became the way she worked with other musicians to bring her vision of music to a bigger audience.

Arda and the Stolen Moon released their debut album in October and it has already received many positive comments from the international press. There has been significant airplay of the album Minutes Into Years by independent and college radio stations in the USA, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and on a number of international podcasts. In fact, there has been so much hype around the album that the band have managed to achieve their ambitious goal of crowdfunding a vinyl release of the album. So look out for that one in February.

First, however, in a bid to share this warm fuzzy feeling with the fans, the band – Arda on vocals, Socrates Leptos and Orestis Andronicou on electric and acoustic guitar, Nicholas Pa on bass and keys, Stella Artois on drums and Claire Palmer on backing vocals – will bring their sounds to Nicosia on Saturday, Larnaca next Wednesday, and Limassol on January 4.
