Hollande to visit

POLICE are implementing heightened security measures ahead of French President Francois Hollande’s official visit to Cyprus on Friday.

Certain roads in Larnaca and Nicosia would be closed to the general public, a statement said.

Police have advised people traveling at the time to follow instructions.

Hollande will be holding talks with president Nicos Anastasiades.

On Friday, Hollande will be going aboard the French aircraft carrier Charles De Gaulle, currently deployed in the eastern Mediterranean.

The Charles De Gaulle is the only European aircraft carrier involved in Operation Inherent Resolve against ISIS.
