Mixing it up the Greek way

The 37-year-old Greek DJ Echonomist will be back at Mason Bar in Limassol on Saturday after riding the electric musical waves at the bar back in July.

The now very popular DJ, from Thessaloniki, got into scratching records after his parents gave him a basic synthesiser. This led the way to music lessons, to performing to the family at the weekends, and then to his first downtempo album and his first musical project entitled InFo. He then started performing live with his band, which consisted of musicians and vocalists. After recording three studio albums with the group he decided to go solo and became Echonomist.

He quickly created his own sound, and now the man behind the music has evolved into a professional DJ, producer and live performer.

He doesn’t necessarily stick to one style, but his quality is never compromised and his sound has a stamp of authenticity all over it. This is why his diverse musical styles place him among the most prolific producers whether electronic, dance or abstract.

If you enjoy a good DJ session and you haven’t heard Echonomist mix it up before, then add Saturday’s performance to your list of musical experiences that must be had.
