Teenagers tell health minister what they want from NHS

Health Minister Giorgos Pamboridis on Tuesday discussed the rights of children to healthcare with teenage ambassadors at an event organised by Children’s Rights Commissioner Leda Koursoumba.

The meeting took place following the request of Pamporidis as part of efforts to shape the national strategy on children’s rights to healthcare. The proposals the teenagers submitted to Pamboridis concerned the introduction of child-friendly healthcare services as well those offered in schools.

Pamboridis pledged that the proposals of the children would be taken into consideration when drafting the final text of the national policy.

Koursoumba welcomed the decision of the health ministry to proceed with developing a national strategy on children’s rights to healthcare as well as requesting the opinion of children on the matter.
