Prison terms for three drug dealers

Three foreign nationals aged 26,37 and 46 were sentenced on Wednesday to eight, two and five years in prison respectively for cocaine trafficking.

The three men were arrested last June for the possession of a kilo of cocaine.

The 46-year-old, who was sentenced to five years had imported the drug from Holland to Cyprus. He was arrested after 82 cylinder containers containing cocaine were found in his hotel room.

He told the court he had accepted to transport the cocaine after he received threats from  a Cypriot man whom he met in Holland.

The other two were arrested during a controlled handover.

The 26-year-old, who was the final recipient, was sentenced to eight years, while the 37-year-old, who was the mule, but was proven he had no idea he was carrying the drugs, was sentenced to two years.
