A fairy tale told in dance

After wowing audiences in Denmark in March, the dance performance entitled 7EVEN will be performed at the Rialto theatre in Limassol on Saturday. This new dance piece was created by local choreographer Fotis Nikolaou after the success of his piece at the Cyprus Contemporary Dance Platform 2015 attracted the attention of contemporary dance group from Denmark Black Box.

The result of this collaboration is a dark fairy tale about guilt and the fear we feel about being or doing something wrong. It is this fear that holds us back from meeting and accepting ourselves. In light of these things, this dance piece attempts to determine our desires and wishes and to define our sins.

While here, the Danish dance group will also run two contemporary dance workshops on Sunday. The first will be held at 11.30am until 2pm and is aimed at mainly professional choreography. The second workshop, which is more geared towards students and choreographer students, will be held from 4pm until 5.30pm.

The main goal of the two workshops‘, which will be held at Dance House Lemesos, is to inspire young dancers, professionals or not, who will have the opportunity to meet with other choreographers as the Danish group dancers come from five different countries. Participation in both workshops is free.
