Fokaides on official visit to Austria

Defence Minister Christoforos Fokaides left for Austria on Sunday on an official visit at the invitation of his counterpart Hans Peter Doskozil.

The two ministers will discuss bilateral relations and their joint initiatives in the framework of the European Security and Defence College (ESDC). The Austrian Military Academy is set to sign a memorandum of cooperation with Open University and University of Nicosia in Cyprus.

Fokaides and Doskozil are also going to discuss other issues of mutual interest such as the migration crisis and terrorism. The Cypriot Minister will also brief his counterpart on the latest developments in the Cyprus issue.

Fokaides is also scheduled to meet with Lamberto Zannier, OSCE Secretary General .

He returns to Cyprus on October 25.
