Trilateral meeting with Cypriot, Greek and Egyptian foreign ministers takes place in New York

The foreign ministers of Cyprus, Greece and Egypt met on Friday in New York, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly to discuss the upcoming tripartite summit to take place in Cairo between President Nicos Anastasiades, Greek Premier Alexis Tsipras and President of Egypt Al Sisi.

The Summit is set for October 11-12.

Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides told the press after the meeting with his counterparts, that the three countries had decided to speed up their trilateral cooperation two years ago and the meeting was taking place in this framework.

He said that they discussed the issues on the agenda of the Cairo Summit , the situation in Syria and the EU role in Egypt.

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias said that they discussed all the pending issues that need to be addressed before the summit and exchanged views on the developments in the region.
