British pensioner in road accident died of heart attack (update)

THE cause of death of 76-year-old Riley Brian, a British permanent resident of Cyprus who was killed in a traffic accident on Wednesday night, was heart attack, his post mortem by state pathologist Eleni Antoniou revealed on Thursday.

Brian, police said, had lost control of his car and fell into a ditch at the side of the road on Wednesday around 10pm while driving on the highway from Kalo Chorio towards Larnaca airport.

A driver travelling behind him saw the accident and called an ambulance, which rushed the driver to the Larnaca General Hospital where doctors confirmed his death. Policemen at the scene had confirmed the Briton was wearing a seatbelt and did not have any external injuries.
