Let the forest be your guide

The Dance House Lemesos is arranging a five-day dance improvisation workshop with dance teacher Lise Romagny as of September 7.

The outdoor workshop, entitled State of Flux: All is Changing, Constantly, Perpetually, is set for the Pyrga forest for three afternoons from 3pm until 7.30pm and is open to everyone.

Romagny will focus the participants’ awareness on the physical phenomenon inherent in our being, that is, the state of flux in ourselves and in the environment all around us.

“For me,” Romagny said “this phenomenon is at the heart of the practice of improvisation and dance improvisation is a way of exploring this reality of impermanence and a way of learning how to adapt to it in our lives.”

“This will be our joyful entry point into dance,” she adds.

Through the workshop, all those involved will learn how to awaken their senses, sharpen the consciousness of the body, be more observant and see what is present, alter the resistance we all have to change, and let go of habitual actions so we can live in the moment.

Romagny, from France, gives dance classes in various projects and contexts for children and adults. She likes to transmit dance as a tool to raise our awareness that we are sensitive, mobile, creative beings and in transformation.

So, if you are interested in exploring the direct contact you have with sensations, movement and the environment, come out to the forest and let Romagny show you the way.
