Education ministry to spend €62m on new projects

PROJECTS exceeding €62m will be implemented by the education ministry before and during the next school year.

According to the ministry, a total of 112 infrastructure and construction projects at an estimated cost of €62,598,046 are planned from 2016 to 2017.

Of these, 62 are large-scale projects with a budget of €61,395,160 and 50 are small-scale with a budget of €1,202,886.

Eight of the large projects are expected to be finished before the start of the school year, while the remaining 54 will continue to be carried out after school starts.

Some 42 of the small proposed undertakings will also be implemented during the year. Eight of them are expected to be completed earlier.
