Rocking the foundation

The Faneromeni 16 festival is making sure no one in Nicosia goes wanting when it comes to music in the old town. Apart from showcasing performances before they head off to the Fengaros festival, the festival is also letting us see what else the island has to offer in musical terms.

Now, if you are a jazz fan – and one that likes jazz in a non-conventional way- then you will already be familiar with the local band The Zilla Project. And if you like a good local DJ then you will surely have heard DJ Claudio on the decks.

On Thursday, in the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation’s courtyard, the band and the DJ will share the stage to put on an electrical, summer show.

The four-man blues and rock band will play their very unique musical renditions and also manage to throw-in a few of their original compositions.

The band, greatly influenced by all styles of American music, have played all over the country, in major festivals, in small and big clubs and they also recently played in London.

After the band has finished their set, it’s time for DJ Claudio – the man who knows how to really get a party started (or in this case, end it with a bang).
