Turkey to blame for lack of solution to missing persons issue, says Photiou

The issue of missing persons in Cyprus remains unsolved and Turkey bears the responsibility by putting obstacles in the way, Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs Photis Photiou said on Sunday.

Speaking during a memorial service for fallen soldiers who lost their lives during the 1974 Turkish invasion, Photiou called on Turkey to take decision that would help produce results on missing persons.

Photiou said that the Greek Cypriot side would keep up its efforts on the issue, and for a Cyprus solution. (CNA)
