UAE foreign minister to visit for embassy inauguration

United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan is set to visit Cyprus on Monday where he will discuss with his Cypriot counterpart Ioannis Kasoulides regional developments and security challenges, EU – Gulf relations and how to deepen bilateral relations.

Cyprus is Sheikh Abdullah`s first stop of a series of visits in European capitals an official press release said.

During official talks with Kasoulides “views will be exchanged on the regional developments and security challenges and the relations of the EU with the Gulf Cooperation Council.”

Kasoulides, the press release said, would brief the UAE mnister on the latest developments on the Cyprus problem.

It added that “bilateral relations will be reviewed, and ways for their further deepening will be examined.”

Sheikh Abdullah will also be received by President Nicos Anastasiades.

Later in the evening, the official inauguration ceremony of the embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Nicosia will be held. (CNA)
