Limassol pensioner dies after setting himself on fire

A 70-YEAR-OLD man in Limassol died on Thursday evening after setting himself on fire.

Details were not clear, but police said the man, a Cypriot national, set himself alight after dousing himself with a flammable substance.

The incident happened in the village of Zakaki.

At the time the man was alone in his residence, police said.

It’s thought the man died of his injuries on the spot.
