Woman dies in road collision

A 55-year-old woman died on Thursday when the car she was driving collided head-on with another on the Geri-Aglandzia road, Nicosia district.

The accident happened around 4pm. Both women drivers were trapped in their mangled cars, and had to be extracted by firemen called to the scene.

The 55-year-old woman was reportedly dead at the time she was extracted from her car.

The driver of the other car, as well as her 10-year-old son, were ferried to Nicosia general hospital for treatment as a precaution.
