British army sergeant dies in traffic accident

A 41-year-old British army sergeant died on Tuesday after he lost control of his bike and crashed head on into a rental car on the opposite side of the road.

The accident took place shortly after 8am on Tuesday, and the man was air-lifted to the Nicosia general by a Sovereign Base Area helicopter.

Despite wearing a helmet during the crash, the man died six hours later.
