University and police work together on modernisation programme

Police on Monday signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Cyprus (UCy) and its research centre KIOS for technological and scientific partnership covering programmes to help modernise the force.
The deal was signed by police chief Zacharias Chrysostomou, and the UCy rector Constantinos Christophides.
Chrysostomou said that the cooperation will focus on promoting joint programmes “to manage challenges related to the field of security, access to equipment for the development of innovation, and joint organisation of scientific seminars and workshops”.
