Adapting the everyday, again

Artist Doros Heracleous will present his new work at Kypriaki Gonia Gallery in Larnaca from Wednesday under the name ReAdaptions.

In this new collection Heracleous displays his own reflections on commonly repeated actions. With a close interaction of shapes, colours and objects the artist gives our every-day acts fresh context.

His representations provide a playful escape from our everyday communication with objects, while always relating to our experiential and internal world. In general, the experience can be characterised as a stimulus of experiences from the past. “Colour is life itself, it gives life,” says the artist.

His creations are flat, embossed outside and within the context. The structures are both two-dimensional and three-dimensional and include compositions and engraved narratives in aluminium leaves.

His materials are often metals like aluminium, or old objects that give the art work that feeling of timelessness.
