OPAP CYPRUS CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT FOR 2015.

A RELIABLE ALLY OF THE CYPRIOT SOCIETY

“OPAP Cyprus will remain a stable and reliable ally of the Cypriot society”. That was the message sent by the Vice-President of OPAP Group, Mr. Spyros Fokas, during OPAP Cyprus’ 2015 CSR actions presentation, held on Friday June 3, at THOC’s New Stage.

 

The event was held in the presence of the Minister of Education and Culture, various political, economic, cultural, sports, and social stakeholders, as well as OPAP’s officials.

 

Mr. Fokas stated that he is glad that, every year, OPAP Cyprus’ focus on social contribution is becoming more and more intense, adding that “social contribution has been an integral part of OPAP Cyprus’ corporate philosophy, from 1969 until today”. “We are standing by the side of the Cypriot society with strength and honesty, but above all, with respect and integrity. It is a deliberate approach that motivates us to intervene and help the country as much as possible, particularly during the last tough years”, he added.

 

In his address, the Minister of Education and Culture, Mr. Costas Kadis, highlighted the fact the “OPAP Cyprus’ CSR activity is an important contribution to the state’s efforts”. Mr. Kadis expressed his and the society’s expectation that OPAP Cyprus will continue to generously support important sectors, such as health, education, culture, environment, and sports.

 

OPAP Cyprus’ actions of Corporate Social Responsibility were briefly presented through a short film.

 

Children from the Violin Workshop, which belongs to Music Talent Development Program of the Ministry of Education, gave rhythm to the event and children from the Tae Kwon-Do team, which receives OPAP Cyprus’ support, performed live during the event.
