Everything to do with lavender

Get away to the village of Platres in the Troodos mountains where the first national lavender festival will be underway this Sunday.

From 10am until 8pm you can learn all about the wonderful world of lavender, and fall in love with the colour purple, with exhibitions, workshops and seminars.

The day will start with the planting of lavender at the CTO offices at 10am, followed by the inauguration of the Royal Lavender Tea Room and the lavender exhibition at the Platres cultural centre.

This exhibition, showcasing lavender products, will run until 8pm.

After walking around the exhibition, you can listen to a small talk on lavender and tourism, followed by an introduction to the magical world of lavender. Both of these talks, in English, will highlight the benefits of lavender and how its rich qualities can attract people to the area where it is grown.

These talks will be repeated in Greek at 4pm, followed by the talk Lavender and Entrepreneurship in English at 4.30, for anyone who might want to know how lavender can become a business.

Apart from looking beautiful and its ability to become a relaxing tea, lavender is also use in the making of beauty and wellness products. This topic will be touched on at 5pm.

Get to know the best practices to be used when it comes to Lavender and then see how lavender and Platres are perfectly matched from 5.30pm until 6pm.
