Get out and about on Sunday

This Sunday why stay in-doors when there will be so much happening outside.

You won’t have to use your imagination to see how a normal city road can be transformed into an outside exhibition area when Kyrenias avenue in Aglantzia throws the Imagine the Road Festival 2016.

The festival, which will run from 10am all the way to 10pm, will turn the avenue into an exhibit area, with works by over 20 Cypriot and international artists.

Alongside these individual artists, art schools will also have the chance to present the works created by their students. But the avenue won’t just be a place for art, it will also become art itself with graffiti and art installations transforming buildings into a part of the festival feel.

Art will also be made on the spot with a number of workshops for children and adults in which the whole family can get involved. And what would a festival be without music performed by DJs and bands.

Talking about the festival, the mayor of Aglantzia Costas Kortas said “this festival offers Aglantzia residents and all members of the public a chance to actively participate in the process of making art. Everyone involved will enhance the aesthetic feel of the area and bring the image of street art to life.”

While Aglantzia will be making art, Strovolos will be very busy in Acropolis park with yet another City Markets day.

Go along and get a close look at some hand-made and unique creations which you could also take home with you. Whether you are a book lover, someone who loves jewellery, aromatic soaps or crafts, you will be sure to find something to tickle your itchy, buying hand.

As always, there will be lots for children to get up to, from bouncing around on bouncy castles, to getting a lot of paint on their faces.
