Attempted murder investigation after sheep ruins vegetable field

A 58-year-old man stabbed his relative, aged 76, in Limassol on Tuesday after the victim’s sheep ruined the man’s vegetable field.

Waiting for him at a Polemedia farm, the younger man attacked the other with a knife, injuring him in the chest, Limassol CID chief Ioannis Soteriades said.

A passerby witnessed the attack and managed to get the knife from the attacker.

The 58-year-old duly went to the police station saying he had been stabbed in the wrist while the 76-year-old went to a kiosk asking for help.

The victim was taken to Limassol general hospital and then transferred to Nicosia general hospital.

Although he is in serious condition, he is not critical and is out of danger.

The differences between the two men stem from sheep the 76-year-old man has that would reporedly ruin the perpetrator’s vegetables.

The 58-year-old is being investigated for attempted murder, carrying a knife to create fear and injury.

He will be taken to Limassol district court on Wednesday.
