The pathways on canvas

The solo painting exhibition Pathways by Helena Hadjioannou will be displayed at Gallery Kypriaki Gonia in Larnaca as of Friday.

This is her sixth solo exhibition and the inspiration behind it was her love for taking long walks and observing the natural phenomena around her.

She explains that “it is not a literal account of a particular place but an invitation for the viewer to join me on Pathways, for a journey of expressive emotion. The interactions with paint and colour are the tools which enable me to reach and express boundless areas of our humanity.

I find that it is possible for me, when I am walking in nature, to lose myself in the moment, so it is the same when I am back in the studio getting into dialogue with a piece of work.”

Hadjioannou Studied at St. Martin’s School of Art in London from 1991 until 1996. Apart from having accomplished six solo exhibitions, she has also participated in many group exhibitions.

The exhibition, which will remain open until May 23, will be opened by Chairman of Pyla Council, Simos Mytides at 8pm.

All the works for the duration of the exhibition can be seen on the website www.gallerykypriakigonia.com.cy
