Cypriot sailor Kontides in second position in Men’s Laser class world ranking

Cypriot sailor, Olympic medalist Pavlos Kontides, is in second position of the ISAF ranking in the Men`s Laser class, with 935 points, one position higher compared to the previous ranking.

According to the rating list, released on Monday by World Sailing (ISAF), the world governing body for the sport of sailing, Australian Matthew Wearn is in the first place with 960 points, while Croatian Tonci Stipanovic ranks third, with 925 points.

Kontides became the first Cypriot athlete ever to win an Olympic medal for his country, by winning the silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the Men`s Laser class. As he has posted on twitter, he is currently in Cyprus to spend some time with his family before flying abroad to continue his training for the Rio Olympic Games.
